Freeshield

Freeshield, as its name suggests is standard Steelshield erected at either 3 or 2.4 metres but is not anchored to the ground. To prevent the fence from moving, ballast is used to hold the fence in place. The ballast used is 1 metre cubed containers which are then filled with water. This is the equivalent of 1 ton which provides the anchorage. These are evenly spaced around the fence and the result is a very strong and sturdy barrier. This system is used at the Edinburgh Hogmanay to control the excessive crowds. It has also been used in a variety of other city centres. This fence is primarily used where it is not appropriate or possible to penetrate the ground with fixing pins.
Low Level Advertising

This fence is 2 metres high and does not have a completely solid face. It has gaps in it to lower the wind resistance. This fence was designed to hold two standard sized advertising posters. This fence is used at Glastonbury as a more substantial alternative to mesh fencing which is easily pushed over.

Picket Fences

Steelshields newest product is breaking the mould. Although steelshield is no stranger to fencing corporate productions it usually provides either perimeter or dividing walls at such events. To add the final touch to your guest area or exclusive marquee, a picket fence is a must. Steelshield can now provide this in two different varieties. There is the standard wooden fence with brass feet or the completely chromed “super picket”.
